Alright, folks, today we\u2019re diving into the HUAWEI Watch 4 Pro\u2014my first time trying out one of Huawei\u2019s smartwatches, so let\u2019s see what it\u2019s packing and if it lives up to the hype!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s start with the unboxing.<\/strong> Here it is: HUAWEI Watch 4 Pro, powered by HarmonyOS. First impressions? The box includes the watch itself (obviously), a ceramic wireless charging dock (fancy!), a user manual, and an eSIM activation guide. That\u2019s pretty much it, but let\u2019s get to the good stuff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The watch itself?<\/strong> Man, this thing looks premium. I mean, check out that Jupiter Brown leather strap\u2014it\u2019s got this classy, vintage feel. The body? Aerospace-grade titanium, baby. Same stuff they use on rockets. The back? Microcrystalline ceramic, topped off with sapphire glass that\u2019s curved, giving it a solid, sleek look. That curve really pops and gives it this crystal-clear, premium vibe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s turn this bad boy on. So, even though the screen is curved, I expected the actual display to be flat. But no, the screen takes full advantage of that curved sapphire glass. It\u2019s like a mini 3D screen\u2014icons and menus just kinda float and look super sharp from any angle. That curved display makes swiping feel buttery smooth. Pro tip, though: don\u2019t go for a bright watch face unless you want the black edges to stand out a bit too much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the wrist?<\/strong> Yeah, it feels good. The leather strap is nice, but it\u2019s summer\u2014so it might not be the most comfortable if you’re sweating. Back to the Watch 4 Pro. Let\u2019s talk watch faces<\/strong>. The default one is Earth, from the new \u201cPlanet Exploration\u201d series. There are seven planets to choose from\u2014Earth, the Moon, and the big five: Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, and Venus. The Earth face shows a dynamic map that pinpoints your location and gives real-time sunlight maps of where it\u2019s day and night on the planet. You can even rotate the crown to see how the Earth changes at different times of day\u2014super fun and interactive. Each planet face has its own unique vibe, and I gotta say, I\u2019m a sucker for this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it\u2019s not just the planet faces. The constellation watch face<\/strong> is another cool one. Spin the crown, and you can see different constellations, or even explore the whole night sky right from your wrist. The animations are super smooth, though these animated faces will chew through your battery faster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of which, let\u2019s check out the new widget system<\/strong>. Instead of just having one feature per screen, Huawei’s now grouped everything together in \u201csuper cards.\u201d For example, there\u2019s a health card with heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep, and body temperature all in one place. It\u2019s super convenient\u2014you can also customize these cards to include ECG scans and one-tap health checkups. Travel cards, fitness cards, lifestyle cards\u2014they\u2019re all set up to get you quick access to everything you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The eSIM feature<\/strong> is a standout\u2014turns your watch into a mini-phone. You can make calls, send texts, and even use data independently, which is great if your phone dies, or you forget it at home. It syncs with your phone number, so no need to get a second SIM card or anything. You can even control other Huawei smart devices through this watch without touching your phone. Pretty wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then there\u2019s smart home control<\/strong>\u2014yep, you can manage your entire smart home setup from the watch. Swipe down, and you get a control center for all your devices\u2014lights, air purifiers, A\/C, you name it. You can even ask Huawei\u2019s voice assistant to turn things on or off. Basically, this watch makes you the commander of your smart home fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huawei\u2019s also brought over their signature Super Device<\/strong> system to the watch, now called Super Link. This lets you connect the watch to Huawei earbuds, speakers, or even a treadmill if you\u2019re feeling extra sporty. You can even control your phone\u2019s camera from the watch, so hello, perfect group photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And for the fitness and health buffs<\/strong>, there\u2019s a new feature called \u201cMicro Health Check\u201d<\/strong>\u2014it pulls in data from all the watch\u2019s sensors to give you a full-body health scan in just 60 seconds. It covers everything from heart rate to lung function and even includes respiratory risk assessments. The results? Right there on your wrist, or synced with your phone in a handy report. Pretty neat for keeping tabs on your health without a bunch of different tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, that\u2019s the HUAWEI Watch 4 Pro<\/strong>\u2014a solid mix of luxury, smarts, and some very cool, unique features. Smooth for the most part, though I noticed a bit of lag when starting up apps, but maybe that\u2019ll get fixed with future updates.
